Nurgle Faun

With my Great Unclean One competition coming up in two weeks, I thought you all needed some Nurgle inspiration! Here is my first Nurgle Faun. I'm planning to make a small warband of these guys. I'll paint them to match my Poxwalkers and and the Black Pox Pestigor warband I made last year. However, I'll try to keep the technological parts to a minimum, so I also can use the fauns as a warband for AoS28.

I filmen all the steps when I painted this guy. I'm planning to make a YouTube channel and start making a few painting and converting videos. But editing videos are harder and more time consuming than I thought, so it'll still be a little while until the first video is done.

The Faun are based on a Plaguebearer with Tyranid Gaunt legs. The hands and axe are form a Poxwalker, and the head is from an Empire Flagellant.

The Miniatures of 2017

Hello hello hello!! Happy new year everyone!
2017 was my most creative year so far. I've converted and painted even more miniatures this year than i did in 2016. I hope 2018 will be even better!

January (and the end of 2016)

I started 2017 with the Vortapt IV project, and expanded my Pestigor warband.

February

March

April

In April I turned Robute Gulliman into a Chaos Lord of Malal for AoS28. I also managed to complete several half finished miniatures for Silver Tower and Nestorian Infestation.

May

In May I entered a duel in Golden Daemon and got a finalist pin!

July

My Genestealer Cult for Nestorian Infestation was featured in Blanchitsu in July. I also got my hands on the new 40k starter-box and started a new Nurgle project. I finally got around to paint the Lord of Slaanesh I converted several years ago.

August

In August, September and October I worked on my Tor Megiddo warband. I traveled to Helsinki in October and played an awesome game with several talented hobbyists!

 November

It was about time GW made some better proportioned Space Marine miniatures. I'll definitely convert some more Primaris Marines in 2018.

December

My AoS28 collection is slowly getting bigger. In 2018 I'm planning to add a Great Unclean One to the group.

Thats it for 2017! My favourite miniature of the year is probably the Abalone Mutant (the thing with claws and a snail shell from August). Which one is your favourite??

Armies on Parade 2017, part I

I just found out that GW Oslo will arrange two Armies on Parade competitions this year! One for Age of Sigmar and one for 40k. Which means I can make two entries! I haven't started on any of the display boards yet, so it's going to be quite a challenge to finish both.

The plan is to enter my Tzeentch army in AoS. This army will mostly be the miniatures I painted last year for Silver Tower.

The 40k army will be my Nurgle horde, based on the old Pestigor warband, the Poxwalkers, some new bigger monsters and maybe Mortarion and a few Plague Marines.
The first new monster it a mutant Giant. GWs new giant set consists of two giants. So me and a couple of friend decided to have a little competition, a giant-off. When all the giants are finished, I'll write a post about them here.

Dark Imperium: Poxwalkers

I've finally photographed my horde of Poxwalkers. You can find the painting tutorial for these guys HERE

The Poxwalkers are painted in a very similar way as the Pestigors I made earlier this year. I think I'll use my Black Pox warband together with the new Death Guard miniatures from Dark Imperium on this years Armies on Parade.

Black Por part XIII: The second Minotaur

The last three models I converted for the Vortapt IV campaing is finally painted.

Pestigors come in all shapes and sizes! I really like painting large areas of flesh, and decided to make another big one. This was a really easy conversion, using one of the Ogres from the Warhammer Fantasy Chaos Warshrines as a base. The left arm is from the Blightkings and the other one is from FW Gal Vorback. The Skull is from a Tomb Kings horse, with antlers and horns from the dryads.

Black Pox part XII: The Tech Abomination

The Tech Abomination is complete! This is probably the most grotesque model I've ever created, enjoy!

The Crimson Queen has managed to save most of the Pestigors from the Black Pox. But a few react badly to the brutal treatment of the plague. These poor individuals either die or go insane. They often end up in one of the Crimson Queens experiments. With a mix of necromancy and technology, she creates unstable killing machines of flesh and metal. These monsters are known as Tech Abominations in the Underhive.

This model is based on a Wood Elves steed (the same one I used on my Centaurs). It has a tail of cables from the FW Mechanicum Scylla Guardian-Automata Covenant and an Imperial Guard Chainsword.

Black Pox part XI: The Crimson Acolyte

Last week I shared three new miniatures for my Nurgle Pestigor warband. Here's the first one painted:

The Crimson Acolyte (right) standing beside her master, The Crimson Queen (left).

As I've mentioned before, the Crimson Queen was once a Tech Priestess. In her former life, serving the Imperium, she had several followers. Some of them followed her to Vortapt IV, and helped her to take control of the Pestigors in the Underhive. Now they are known as Crimson Acolytes.

This model is based on the Warhammer Fantasy Necromancer with a Banshee head. Most of the tach bits and her left arm are taken from Ballistaris Cawl.

The orange and skin were painted using only washes over a Corax White undercoat, the same painting style i used on the Pestigors.
