Tyranid Army

I decided to take some better pictures of m Tyranids. This time I used a white background, instead of photographing the whole Armies on Parade board.  I think they turned out pretty good. Enjoy!

Monday, 15 September 2014

I'm finished with my display-board for my Tyranid army. It was entered in the Norwegian Armies on Parade and took 1st place this saturday. I'm very happy with both the army and the display-board. Sadly the pictures look a bit fake. When the pictures was taken the sun was down, so they're ether a bit too bright because of the flash, or too dark.

The last two pictures of the Carnifex storming through a wall, is taken in a different light, so the Tyranid's skin-tone looks a bit green.

More pictures of individual models and more details will be posted when I collect the display board from the Store.

Armies on Parade, part II

Here is a quick update on my Armies on Parade project. The ground and building is pretty much ready for priming. I used a mix of earth and sand to give the ground texture. It was done with several thick layers of wood glue/ PVA glue, earth and sand. Details like cork (to represent cracked pieces of asphalt), oil drums, dead Space Marines and wall-pices from the building, was pressed into the still wet mix. Together with a couple of craters, carved directly into the ground, this gave the project the ruined city look I was looking for.

My favourite part of the ruined city so far, is the Carnifex I converted to be crashing through one of the Shrine of the Aquilla's walls. Sorry about the bad picture quality. I will post some better photos tomorrow.

Thanks for looking!

The Swormlord and a Carnifex

Like I mentioned earlier, I'm not just working on a World Eater army, I'm also painting a tyranid army in the colours of the Hive Fleet Kraken. This is my two favourite models in the army so far, a Carnifex and the Swormlord.

Thanks.
