WilhelMiniatures on Etsy!

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since the last update, and I've been working on a few interesting things since then. The thing I'm most exited about is that I just started playing around with some amateur moulding and resin casting. To test this out, I've made a few terrain pieces. I decided to start out with terrain pieces because I don't think air-bubbles in the cast is a big problem in this case. Getting a few bubbles on a heavily textured piece isn't really a problem, but getting an air-bubble in the middle of a miniatures face ruins the whole thing.

Here's a few pictures of the casting process and the finished products. If you'd like to buy some of these Bone Tree terrain pieces to add to your own collection, you can find them in my Etsy shop: LINK.

... And here's a little sneak peak of a new test cast!

Nestorian Infestation: the Second Game

Last week I had a great INQ28 game with my friend Tommy! It's always nice to set up the terrain and have a quick game and a beer.

We played the second game of our Nestorian Infestation campaign. It has been an ongoing project we have been working on for over two years. My Genestealer Cult warband has even been featured in Blanchitsu!

I really recommend checking out the battle-report on Tommy's blog: bigbossredskullz

Lesotho 212: the Survivors & the Infected

Last month I visited Warhammer World in Nottingham for a INQ28 game. It was a great game with a LOT of talented hobbyists. I've never seen that many fantastic warbands in one day. Jonathan Hartman (@Shibboleth02 on Instagram) arranged the event, and made the breathtaking terrain.

I'll leave links to blogs and instagram-accounts on the bottom of the page. I really recommend checking them out!!

I have a lot of photos from the game, but I'm saving them for the battle-report I'll write in the next post. This post will focus on the miniatures I made for the event.

I mostly used Poxwalkers and resin Servitors to make the Survivors and the Zombies. I wanted to make it look like all the miniatures came from the same research facility. My goal in the game was to get my survivors out of the Lesotho 2-12 labyrinth. I wanted it to look like my gang originally worked at the facility, so I painted them in white and bright orange to match the colours of the terrain.

The biggest mutant I made was based on a Forge World Plague Ogryn. This was actually the same miniature John Blanche used for making one of his abominations:

Competition: Great Unclean One

2018 will be the year of the Great Unclean one. With a brand new miniature from GW representing the Greater Daemon, I think it’s time for a competition on this blog.

How to enter the competition:

Make your representation of a Great Unclean One.

You can choose whatever artform/miniature you want. With the new GUO from GW I hope to see a lot of entries based on this miniature, but you don’t have to use it. I’ll accept older versions of the daemon, the Forge World version or your own sculpts. I’ll even accept GUO artworks (paintings, drawings, digital art, etc.). The only criterion is that it has to be a finished representation of the GUO. If you enter a miniature it has to be fully painted. You don’t have to convert the miniature, but it’s recommended to do so to make it unique.

If you enter a miniature, you have to send a minimum of two pictures. Front and back. You can send other angles/details if you like, but no more than five pictures per entry. Work in progress pictures are appreciated, but not mandatory.

If you enter an artwork, you just have to send one image.

The pictures must be sent to: wilhelminiatures@gmail.com

More information:

The entries must be sent before the end of April: Monday 30th of April at midnight Norwegian time (11.00 PM in Great Britain)

Every accepted entry will be posted on the blog. If you want to write a few words about your thoughts on the project, include them in the mail with the pictures, but no more than 300 words.

The best three entries will get some sweet prizes!! The prizes will probably be a gold, silver or bronze statue and a small bag of bits for future conversions.

Good luck everyone!

Armies on Parade 2016 by Rebecca

Welcome to the first guest post on this blog who is the winner of this years Armies on Parade competition in Oslo:

Hi, my name is Rebecca and here is my Armies on Parade entry. The building is made off card board boxes, covered in squares of plastic card. The faces you see around it, are different materials. The smaller ones are made by casting doll-faces and angle statues in green-stuff. While the big one it the head of a mannequin, used by hairdressers. I actually had to shave it and cover the top with filler.

The leader of my group is called Matris Magnæ. She is also depicted on the two paintings on the towers. This model is based on a Nurgle Blight King. She has Goblin arms, Plaguebearer legs and a hed from the fat priest from Bretannia's Men at Arms box. Her chair is based on a Plaguedrone with spider legs from the Goblin Spider Riders.

Matris Magnæ's slaves, carrying her luggage as she walks in here garden. They are based on Skaven with Flagellant heads.

The Pig Rider is one of my favourite models in the group. He controls the kingdoms food production and trade with other colonies. The model is based on a plaguebearer with a zombie head. His pig is actually a plastic toy pig from the toy store, with some modifications done to it.

This mode is based on a Blight King. He is the commander of her majesties mutant cyborg army.

Another model based on a Blight King. She is the minister of culture and entertainment.

The final minister is Gregor the XVIth, master of coin. He is based on Festus the Leechlord.

I also converted an Imperial Knight into a walking organ. The civilisation have lived relatively peacefully for centuries, and have no real use for warmachines. The Knights main purpose is to play music and lift heavy objects.

One of the Royal Guards based on a Plaguebearer with Mechannicus legs.

Lastly we have her majesties army of mutants. Because it has been so long since the colony went to war, the army is mostly for show, and practically useless in battle. Together with the Knight they make a good parade. These guys are based on Goblins from GW's Hobbit range. Their heads have been swapped for Space Marine backpack vents.

Thanks for reading! If you would like to see pictures of what I'm currently working on, you can check out my Instagram.
