Electro Priests

The Electro Priests are Painted! I'm quite happy with the way they turned out.

The leader is based on FW's Renegade Militia psyker, wile the rest are based on fantasy Flagellants. I'm pleased that they fit so well together at a unit, the psyker doesn't stand out too much. If you have any questions about the painting or converting, feel free to ask!

  2. Really great models mate, I prefer these to the stock GW minis for sure.

One thing is that I think they are a bit drab, they need a spot colour of red or blue I think. The red I think to tie them into the army more, and blue to represent the electricity, maybe with an OSL effect.

I still love them, and will be shamelessly stealing them for my own Ad Mech when I get round to them.

    1. Thanks!

I agree that they need a spot colour. The red and black/yellow pattern on the cables isn't enough. I have however tried to paint the hood of a techpriest converted from the corpse cart driver red, and the rest of the robes in the same colour as these guys. Red and white-ihs make the models look very christmasy. Because of this I can't paint the robes in a second colour, so I'm not sure how to get a spot colour in there.
I'll try to work it out, when I have painted the rest of the army, and started working on the display-board.

  3. What did you use for the helmet parts. It just looks super smooth to be just green stuff.

    1. The helmets are green-stuff. I covered the top half of several different human heads with green-stuff and smoothed it into place with GW sculpting tools. When the shape was in place, I used clay shapers and some sort of skin cream (or vaseline or whatever other greasy moisturiser you can find) to finish of the smoothing of the helmets.

  5. Amazing, these are way better than the GW models. I don't like the electro priests either. What did you use for arms? What other bits Did you use?

    Thanks

The arms are from the Harlequin kit. The open hands and some of the heads are from the corpses and zombies from the Corpse Cart. I also used green-stuff, cables, electrical parts and wrist watch parts and cogs as smaller details.
